Active clamped two-switch forward converter with secondary side resonant ZCS
Abstract
A secondary side resonant ZCS turn-off active clamped two-switch forward converter in this paper is proposed. By secondary side resonance ZCS turn-off to reduce secondary side losses and improve overall efficiency and the switchs divides the voltage stress and clamps to Vin. In order to allow the switch to achieve ZVS to reduce switching losses, the active clamping technique is added to the primary side so that both the main switch and an auxiliary switch can be turned on under ZVS condition.Soft switching can reduce switching losses. The proposed converter compared with the active clamped two-switch forward converter, the overall system component requires only add one capacitor. The proposed converter can increase the full load efficiency by 2.19%, and the efficiency can be improved by nearly 5% at light load.In this paper, proposed converter with a DC input voltage of 200V and an output voltage of 48V 200W is operated at switching frequency of 65 kHz. The model analysis is given and the validity of the converter is verified by simulation.
