A Multiple Sliding Surface based control for Active Seat Suspension System

Abstract

This paper considers the problem for designing a robust control design for Active Seat Suspension system being affected by a non-linear actuator and uneven road profile. The motivation of the paper is to design a novel scheme of Multiple Sliding Surface with Two Time Scale approach as a disturbance estimator to compensate the effect of uncertainties in suspension parameters with actuator lag and road disturbances to improve the ride comfort for the passenger thereby reducing acceleration. A Lyapunov Stability method is derived to prove the stability of disturbance estimator. The proposed scheme developed is compared with the passive and conventional active suspension. The performance of the designed system is observed on different road conditions.
