Research on Flow Fields of Electro-Arc Heater
Abstract
The flow field structure of Electro-Arc Heater and the resulting pressure and heat transfer have been studied by numerical study. The compressible Navier-Stokes equations are solved by the finite-volume method. Laminar flow model is used. The results indicate that, the flow field of Electro-Arc Heater contains complicated expansion and shock wave. The parameter of the model surface is affected. The parameter of wedge model is more affected. The results of the simulation may provide a theoretical basis for the design of the thermal protection system of hypersonic reentry vehicles..
