Abstract

Wereng pest is one of the pests that can damage rice crops to affect rice yields. Extermination of wereng pest required an environmentally friendly tool using LED light bulbs and internet-based ultrasonic waves of things that can be controlled using a smartphone. In this wereng pest control system using LED lights as a pest trap and using ultrasonic waves as a wereng repellend. In this system, an ultrasonic generator is designed using IC NE555 as a pulse wave generator producing ultrasonic waves up to $\\gt50$ kHz. The results of the performance test of LED lights obtained the average catch of wereng pest as many as 162.2 pests. At the same time, the results of ultrasonic wave performance testing set at a frequency of 40kHz with a distance of 3 meters take an average of 8 hours 3.2 minutes to eradicate pest wereng, while a distance of 6 meters takes an average of 13 hours 2.4 minutes to destroy wereng pest. Accu endurance test results in this study obtained an average time of 15 hours 35.1 minutes in a single charge. So this tool is very environmentally friendly and effective, and efficient in eradicating wereng pest.
