Simulation of Environmental Impact of LNG Filling Barrier Leakage Based on Computer Fluid Dynamics (CFD)

Abstract

Aiming at the influence of LNG charging pontoon leakage on navigation safety environment, the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is used to establish the calculation model of LNG refueling tank s leakage and diffusion. The numerical simulation of diffused environmental wind field using different density grids improves the simulation speed of 3 times. The analysis results show that the air flow characteristics near the filling ship can be more clearly understood; the leakage outlet is fully diffused; the air flow patterns near the filling ship include various flow characteristics such as the de-flowing zone, the swirling zone and the wall-stable zone. The diffusion and distribution characteristics of the LNG flash aerosol become chaotic. It can be applied to site selection, navigation safety management and other aspects of LNG filling barge, so as to enhance the safety of maritime operations.
