A Review of Research on Technology Enhancing Chinese Learning
Abstract
The development of technology has spawned more and more researches technologies promoting Chinese learning. In order to systematically analyze the research situation of this field, we use content analysis to review 40 relevant documents published in 2016–2020 on the topic of technology enhancing Chinese learning, and draw the following conclusions: (1) Most researches use quantitative and qualitative methods in their researches. (2) The most frequent topics are learners language ability and learning emotion. (3) Learners always use iPad, mobile phone and computers in Chinese learning, and the most frequently used is the iPad, which is more convenient and easy to control, suitable for learners of different ages. The most frequently used software is the learning platform such as wiki platform, Moodle platform, 3D virtual environment learning platform and mobile seamless learning platform developed by the researchers themselves. These platforms are mainly used to create a contextual learning environment for learners or to support learners to read and write. Teaching games such as Second life, sifteo cube games, AR games, and VR games are also noticed in these papers. In addition, digital tools such as e-books, online communication software (such as forums, WeChat, QQ) always be used to promote the interaction between learners to enhance language learning. (4) The primary school research objects are mainly first language learners, while the university research objects are mostly second language learners.
