International Coordination of Future Spaceborne Sar Missions - an Overview
Abstract
In order to take advantage of the numerous spaceborne SAR systems which are being built and planned in the near future by space agencies and commercial entities, it is proposed to investigate how the coordination among these different partners can be achieved. The main benefits would be to offer to the users an integrated capability to provide multifrequency, multi-polarization, well calibrated interferometric global coverage at very frequent rate to monitor both slow and rapid changing surface features. The initial activities of this international coordination are described since the first workshop dedicated to this topic took place in 2018 at Caltech till the latest meeting which was held in May 2021 at ESA/ESRIN.
