Abstract

In this paper, we argue that the application of flow theory in primary mathematics in Tibetan areas in China with the support of immersive virtual reality system is benefit for improving the level and effectiveness of mathematics teaching and enhancing primary school students mathematical literacy. The flow refers to a psychological experience when students are engaged in a learning activity with a balance of challenge and skill in a task, and fascinated by the activity they pay high attention to, achieving a kind of integration of activity and consciousness. Meanwhile, the immersive virtual reality system with a virtual character and a natural interaction mode can provide appropriate curriculum resources for teachers and students, and guide them to immerse themselves in an efficient teaching and learning activity. With the application of flow theory and the introduction of immersive virtual reality system, Students in primary school can achieve a learning state of efficient epistemic dialogue and strong learning motivation.
