Abstract

In the process of aircraft final assembly, the aircraft wire & harness test is required in order to ensure the reliability, safety, and correctness of the aircraft wire & harness network. It is of great practical significance to realize rapid and accurate positioning of cable fault points in order to effectively improve aircraft production capacity, improve test efficiency, reduce test cycle, reduce unnecessary labor intensity, ensure the reliability of the whole cable and electronic components such as relays, diodes, resistors. However, the existing aircraft cable fault location technology is based on the time domain reflection method (TDR), and the test signal is prone to deformation and serious attenuation in the actual operation, which leads to a large positioning error. In this paper, an aircraft cable fault location method based on the spread spectrum time-domain reflection method (SSTDR) is proposed, and the fault location scheme is designed and formulated. By establishing the mathematical model of short circuit and open circuit fault, the cable fault location results are simulated and verified by using MATLAB/SIMULINK.
