F-DEMATEL Method to Evaluate Criteria for Affecting Productivity in HP Valve Manufacturing Industries

Abstract

High pressure valves are one of the key elements in the boiler design and manufacturing. They are the main reason for the high safety and efficiency of the boiler. The high-pressure valves manufacturer finds it very difficult in finding the right criteria in manufacturing and production of the high-pressure valves. Even if the manufacturers find the criteria, they find it difficult to rank the criteria and prioritize the criteria for the high effective production of the valves. This study mainly focuses on increasing the productivity of the high-pressure valve manufacturing industry in India. This requires in-depth analysis of the criteria and ranks them according to their influence on the other criteria. Here, we have selected twelve important criteria that affect the productivity of the manufacturing of HP valves. These criteria are selected based on the literature available in manufacturing of the high-pressure valves. These criteria are segregated and ranked according to the nature and influence they tend to project on other criteria. Here we have applied Fuzzy decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (FDEMATEL). This methodology focuses on relating each criterion on other criteria depending on the influencing valve they possess. This study helps the high-pressure valve manufacturing industry in understanding the criteria that are affecting the productivity. There by also helps in improving the efficiency of the productivity of manufacturing industry.
