Comparison of Dynamic Properties of Selected Railgun Constructions

 
 

Abstract


Dynamic properties of three different constructions of the electrodynamic accelerator were compared in paper. The basic construction is the ironless railgun (ILR), while the other two constructions are iron-core railgun ICR) and iron-core permanent magnet railgun (ICPMR), respectively. In all investigated devices the rails dimensions and configuration of the supply system were kept constant. The calculations were carried out with using field-circuit model and were verified by measurements.
