Content Aware Task Scheduling Framework for Mobile Workflow Applications in Heterogeneous Mobile-Edge-Cloud Paradigms: CATSA Framework
Abstract
In this paper, we consider the task scheduling problem of the mobile workflow applications in heterogeneous mobile edge cloud paradigms. These paradigms are composed of the mobile computing paradigm, the edge cloud paradigm, and the centric cloud paradigm. The applications require a ubiquitous wireless connection and dynamic services for execution. For this problem, we represent the Content-Aware Task Scheduling Algorithm (CATSA) framework for mobile workflow applications. CATSA consists of the following components: Task Estimation Deadline Division, Task Sequencing, Resource Matching Decision, and Task Scheduling to solve the scheduling problem. These components schedule tasks onto geographically distributed computing paradigms, in such a way that decreases the makespan of all applications. Performance evaluation results determine that the suggested framework outperforms about the makespan of mobile workflow applications as compared to existing task scheduling algorithms.
