RLS Adaptive Beamforming Algorithm Interms Of Energy Efficiency For Smart Antenna System

Abstract

In modern wireless communication the need of smart antenna arises to address the challenges like limited capacity in allocated spectrum and signal fading due to propagation environment. To achieve the maximum signal quality towards the desired direction is the greatest deal. Therefore, antennas play a vital role in receiving the signal with desired quality and also transmit the signal energy with desired directivity. To achieve high gain in any given direction, antenna arrays are used and it is possible only with the electronically steerable arrays, which are crucial for modern wireless communication. The smart antenna uses signal processing techniques in such a way that desired signal can be spatially filtered out from the wireless channel with improved gain. Therefore, the quality of the signal reception may be enhanced by changing the directionality of radiation pattern in response to the signal environment. Our focus is to design a smart antenna system that generates desired radiation characteristics with higher directivity towards user direction and nulls in certain interference directions by reducing the side lobe levels by using the adaptive beam forming techniques. It is also proposed to develop the new energy model with the proper selection of inter element spacing between the antenna elements varies from 0.5λ to 1λ with the calculation of SNIR.
