Enhancements of Data Hiding Applications with QR Code Concealment

Abstract

Quick response codes (QR codes) are commonly seen nowadays. They can be captured by mobile phone cameras, and the information therein, such as some designated website, can be interpreted and then be linked shortly. In this paper, we propose hiding QR codes, which act as watermarks, into original image. The QR codes contain information corresponding to the original image. The first and the second QR codes serve as robust watermark and fragile watermark, respectively. After experiencing possible attacks, the QR codes may fail to be accessed, and we propose the scheme to conceal the first QR code for robust watermarking. Simulation results have presented the effectiveness with our scheme.
