Multifunction Filter using CNTFET based Current Conveyors

Abstract

In this paper, low power multifunction filter circuits have been proposed that use second generation Current Conveyors (CCII) as the active element. The CCII have been realized using Carbon Nanotube Field Effect Transistors (CNTFETs). Performance enhancement in leakage, dissipation, frequency range and low on-chip-real estate of the design justifies the use of the expensive CNTFET-device. The designs use minimum number of active and passive elements. The proposed function circuits include high pass filter (HPF), low pass filter (LPF) and band pass filter (BPF). The designs have been simulated on Cadence Virtuoso. The CNTFETs used in the simulation have been obtained from the Verilog A version of the sub-10nm Stanford Virtual-Source Carbon Nanotube Field-Effect Transistors (VS-CNFET) Model.
