Report of IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics-Taiwan 2019

Abstract

& THE IEEE INTERNATIONAL Conference on Consumer Electronics—Taiwan, 2019, took place from May 20th to 22th at Evergreen Resort Hotel in Yilan County, Taiwan. As an excellent platform for worldwide scholars and professionals, ICCE-TW aims to provide discussions on research in consumer electronics and the relevant applications. Inherited from the success of ICCE-TW series between 2014 and 2018, the 6th ICCE-TW continues its success and attracts more than 320 attendees from 15 countries with more than 400 paper submissions. The highlight of the meeting was that more than 172 papers among 356 accepted papers were submitted from overseas rather than Taiwan. The attendees around the world gathered in Yilan to exchange professional knowledge and experiences. Therefore, this conference has become a precious opportunity for international networking. The technical program consists of two keynote speeches, one panel discussion, 58 oral sessions, and three poster sessions. This year, in order to address the multidisciplinary at present, the organizers have set up the conference main theme as “Interdisciplinary Trends in Human-care Computing Electronics.” The IEEE Consumer Electronics Society (CESOC) would like to take this chance to appreciate the technical program committee for their marvelous work, which has made ICCE-TW 2019 a huge success. In addition to the technical program, a half day tour was held on May 21st afternoon, which involved visiting Lanyang Museum and Toucheng Old Street. Lanyang Museum is located on the northwest side of the Wushigang Harbor, which was designed to protect the wetlands. Furthermore, since the building of the museum appears unique, it is also considered a significant landmark and tourist attraction in Yilan. On the other hand, during the Qing dynasty, Toucheng Old Street had upheld the title as economic capital because it is near the Wushigang Harbor, which was the most important commercial harbor in Lanyang area then. It is expected that these social events allowed participants to network efficiently and know the culture of Taiwan. Digital Object Identifier 10.1109/MCE.2019.2931858
