Is there a way to become prosumer? Promoting the prosumer concept in Romania

Abstract

Prosuming-promoted in UE countries by photovoltaic plants in private households for local electricity consumption, have significant growth rates. What is the path for the development of prosumers starting up 2019 in Romania? What are the major factors that have influenced national prosumer in UE between 1990–2018, support schemes, regulatory provisions, information and third-party markets, under conditions with different national policy factors? How policy shapes the role of residential PV prosumer paradigms? In Romania, investment in residential photovoltaic installations will be sustainable if there are government subsidies for local production and consumption and for isolated, non-electrical, hybrid solutions. The decision criteria will be influenced by four factors: technical, economic, environmental and socio-political. Reducing fees for approvals will be important factors in promoting renewable energy sources.
