Methods of Current Modulation in Diode Rectifiers

Abstract

In the paper, the conception of diode rectifier with current modulation in the DC output circuit is shown. In this way, it is possible to obtain grid currents characterized by low deformation. The elaborated methods of current modulation are described. One of them is based on the single power electronics current source, which is connected to the DC circuit with the help of a special pulse transformer. In this case, the work of the system for two different reference signals of the used current source is considered. The second solution depends on using an additional current controlled source, which is connected in parallel with a load of the described rectifier. Chosen results of simulation research are also shown.
