A Phase-coded OFDM Signal for Radar-communication Integration

 
 
 
 

Abstract


In this paper, a novel approach to combining communication and radar functions in OFDM signal waveform design is proposed. An analytical expression of the ambiguity function for OFDM signal with each pulse consists of single/multiple consecutive symbols is derived. Moreover, an integrated model with the elements of complete complementary codes (CCC) serving as complex-valued weights is established, of which radar performance is evaluated by numerical examples. In this way, it can be validated that communication information can be carried by sequences order of CCC while the detection performance is not affected.
