Implementation of Stationary and Synchronous Frame Current Regulators for Grid Tied Inverter using Typhoon Hardware in Loop System

 
 
 
 
 

Abstract


Analytical models of grid-tied inverter with LCL filter in stationary and synchronous reference frames have been established in this paper. State-space analysis of grid-tied inverter with LCL filter has been performed for the current regulator with Proportional Resonant (PR) controller in the stationary reference frame and Proportional Integral (PI) Controller in the synchronous reference frame. The resemblance between both the controllers has been analyzed. The controller Hardware in the Loop (C-HIL) model of the grid-tied inverter has been investigated to implement the current regulation strategy. Results have been validated through PSIM simulations and verified by Typhoon Hardware in Loop (HIL) model.
