A Novel Lotus Shaped Multiband Patch Antenna with Improved Performance
Abstract
A novel lotus shaped patch antenna for RF harvesting is proposed in this paper. The designed antenna is efficaciously operating at multi frequencies covering the range of GSM (890–910 MHz), DCS/PCS/UMTS (1800–2100 MHz) Wi-Fi (2.45 GHz) radar and satellite communication, DTV broadcasting, Wi-Max and various other applications. The antenna is designed on FR4 substrate of thickness 3.048 mm of dielectric constant 4.4 with the dimension of 140 mm × 90 mm. Parametric analysis of proposed antenna is presented in this paper. The antenna is giving gain of 9.7 dB and $S_{11}$ response −25.5 dB at frequency 2.4 GHz with radius of the patch 15.8mm and length of ground 50mm and exhibits VSWR < 2.
