Industry Quality Infrastructure: A Review

Abstract

Quality infrastructure, which relies on metrology, standardization, conformity assessment, and market surveillance, is an emerging research area on macro quality management. It has the potential to promote trade and improve industry competitiveness. However, the state of art for industry quality infrastructure is not clear. In this paper, the related literature, practical cases, and policies are reviewed. The main research barriers are summarized and pilot industries are suggested. Implementation methods, effect mechanisms, and effectiveness evaluation methods are of vital importance for the advancement of industry quality infrastructure. Active fundamental researches and application cases are badly needed.
