A Method For Processing Data of Thunderstorm Activity Monitoring

Abstract

The paper proposes an approach for the secondary processing of monitoring results of thunderstorm activity. The error in determining the bearing of discharge, which inevitably occurs in single-point passive monitoring systems, is particularly critical when processing pre-storm radiation. The errors can be eliminated by analysing the entire set of registered discharges for a period of time. The proposed approach allows us to construct three-dimensional maps of cells for estimating the grade membership to the thunderstorm and it projection.
