Block Matching in Noise Suppression Filter for Video Coding
Abstract
This paper considers specific block matching methods which are used inside Nose Suppression Filter (NSF) in-loop filter for video coding. Different approaches of the block matching procedure, which are combined in NSF are described. In general block matching part of NSF comprises of a specific search region and a statistical search method which are applied to a certain area of a picture. As a result total complexity of block matching part inside NSF significantly decreases while coding efficiency of NSF algorithm is kept. In addition theoretical complexity analysis of the block matching part inside NSF is provided.
