Finite-time prescribed performance adaptive fuzzy control for nonlinear systems with unknown virtual control coefficients

Abstract

In this paper, the tracking control problem is considered for a class of uncertain strict-feedback nonlinear systems with adjustable finite-time prescribed performance adaptive fuzzy control. A smooth shifting function is embedded in finite-time prescribed performance control for the tracking error to eliminate the condition that the initial tracking error being smaller than the initial value of performance function. In addition, the adaptive fuzzy finite-time prescribed performance controller ensures that all of the signals in the closed-loop system are bounded. Meanwhile, the output tracking error converges to a fixed region after a pre-set finite time even that the tracking error is bigger than the performance function at the initial time. The effectiveness of proposed controller is demonstrated by simulation results.
