Comparative Analysis of Image Fusion Techniques for Infrared and Visible Images
Abstract
Infrared Images have the ability to detect a target in low visibility or poor weather conditions. On the contrary, visible images reflect the background and has good spatial resolution. Fusion of these two images will yield a robust image having the advantages of structural details in visible image and thermal radiation in infrared image. In this paper four aspects are covered: comprehensive analysis of infrared and visible image fusion in spatial and transform domain, image fusion rules, application of infrared and visible images and performance criteria.
