Performance exploration of compact high gain Terahertz antenna design for WBAN systems
Abstract
Terahertz (THz) radiation and communication emerge as an advanced wireless technology for Wireless Body Area Networks (WBAN) systems. The design, simulation, and comparative performance evaluation of a miniaturized and high gain THz antenna design based on Alumina, RT Duroid 6010, and Gallium Arsenide substrate to be utilized for WBAN systems are the primary emphasis of current research. The overall dimension of the designed compact antenna is 36μm × 60 μm× 5μm, and the high gain is observed as 7.393 dB at the resonant frequency 7.6 THz. The compactness and high gain of the presented antenna make it suitable to be implemented antenna applicable for WBAN systems, particularly for human health monitoring.
