Abstract

This study aims to explore the effects of exercise on the subjective well-being of the elderly through meta-analysis techniques. A total of 9 documents and 3101 research objects were obtained by searching the Chinese and English databases. The documents were processed and analyzed using Comprehensive Meta analysis 2.0 software. The heterogeneity test found that the random effects model is more appropriate; the meta-analysis results show that exercise has a significant positive effect on the subjective well-being, positive affection (PA) and positive experience (PE) of the elderly; on the other hand, exercise has a significant negative effect on the negative affection (NA) and negative experiences (NE) of the elderly. In summary, exercise is beneficial to improve the subjective well-being of the elderly, and exercise can be used to help the elderly successfully age.
