An Accurate Time-Domain Waveforms of Class-E ZVDS Inverter in Series- and Parallel-Load Network for Domestic Induction Cooker

 
 
 
 
 
 

Abstract


This paper proposes a time-domain simulation studies on the accurate time-domain of the current waveform of the active switch based on Class-E inverter with only one capacitor and one inductor for domestic induction cooker using OrCAD/PSpice, both series- and parallel-resonant equivalent circuits. Generally, a series-network of equivalent resistance and inductance is used to represent the induction load for analysis and design in the domestic induction cooker system. In this paper, we propose a parallel load network circuit, which represented by an inductance (LP) connected with equivalent load resistance (RP) in parallel, which the maximum drain current (iD) is increase linearly depend on the turn on time of the active switch. The feasibility of the proposed method can be verified by the current waveform of the active switch was operated under zero-voltage switching (ZVS) and zero-voltage derivative switching (ZVDS) conditions. The result from simulations on both equivalent circuits then compared to an experimental result from a prototype with 200 W, 600 W and 1,200 W.
