Reliability Improvement of Power System Network With Optimal Transmission Switching
Abstract
This paper describes a method to evaluate the effect of Optimal transmission switching (OTS) in reliability improvement due to load curtailments at the load buses and calculate reliability indices such as LOLP, EDNS, and EENS. Increasing new line in transmission system grids have also capability to improve the reliability. But power flow through new line causes the stress (more limits) on the system and building new line have also difficulties. So aim of this paper to improve the reliability with existing line only. Capacity outage probability table (COPT) calculated to get individual and cumulative probability for calculation of reliability indices.
