Causes and Countermeasures of Police-related Cyber Public Sentiment Crisis

 

Abstract


Development of We Media technology has broadened channels of information transmission and offered equal say to large quantities of internet users, while police propaganda departments dominance and authority has been greatly weakened at the same time. Once police-related hot events happen, public sentiment begins spreading on the internet, which has many new features such as high dissemination speed, widened influential scope, and information fragmentation. At the same time, internet users pay close attention to police-related events. Once negative fragmentary information is disclosed on the internet, it will soon become the focus after spread and transmitted, which has brought unprecedented high pressure to the police. Therefore, the police should deeply analyse experience and lesson of cyber public sentiment crisis that has happened, show official opinions actively and positively on the internet in order to turn risks into opportunities and make police work more efficiently.
