P61: Pattern of chemotherapeutic adverse effects in patients with malignancies
Abstract
comes and cure rates. This study details patterns preceding new melanoma diagnoses locally, and quantifies the contributory role of vigilant family members. A significant proportion (10%) were diagnosed incidentally during full-body skin examinations (FBSE). In the incipient age of single-lesion teledermatology and virtual consultations precluding FBSE, clinical teams might consider the opportunity costs imposed. We are encouraged to continue meticulous FBSEs when indicated, and commit to review retrospectively ‘surprise’ melanoma cases to identify learning points for pattern recognition.
