Multiple venous malformations revealing a familial cerebral cavernomatosis
Abstract
A 70-year-old male patient was admitted for multiple cutaneous vascular malformations appeared progressively on the face and the trunk for 20 years (Fig. 1). At first sight, a diagnosis of blue rubber bleb nevus syndrome was suggested. Histological analysis of cutaneous lesions revealed cavernous venous malformations. A full-body computed tomography scan (CT-scan) showed three cerebral nodules in the frontal lobe of 7, 4 and 3 mm respectively, several hepatic lesions of the segments IV, V and VII, and a 25 mm para-aortic formation.
