Characterization of nail changes in alopecia areata using 33‐MHz ultrasonography

Abstract

We read with great interest the article by Yesudian PD and de Berker DAR1\u2060 which describes the differences between nail changes in lichen planus and alopecia areata. We would like to share our experience using a high-frequency transducer (33 MHz) ultrasound for the examination of the nail plates and bed, as a complementary method to physical examination and dermatoscopy.
