Significant Hair Regrowth in a Middle Eastern Woman with Central Centrifugal Cicatricial Alopecia.
Abstract
Central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia (CCCA) is the most common cause of scarring hair loss in black women and almost exclusively occurs in women of African ancestry (1). CCCA typically manifests around the fourth decade of life as a patch of hair loss on the central scalp which progresses centrifugally (1). Herein, we report the case of a 30-year-old Middle Eastern woman who developed CCCA, and experienced substantial hair regrowth with treatment.
