The role of laparoscopic‐guided transversus abdominis plane block in laparoscopic colorectal surgery

Abstract

In the article entitled No benefit of ultrasound-guided transversus abdominis plane blocks over wound infiltration with local anesthetic in elective laparoscopic colonic surgery: results of a double-blind randomized controlled trial , Rashid and colleagues pointed to a similar analgesic effect of pre-emptive ultrasound (US)-guided transversus abdominis plane (TAP) block compared to local wound infiltration in patients undergoing elective laparoscopic colectomy [1]. We would like to provide further insight. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.
