Laparoscopic approach for treatment of a retrorectal tumour.
Abstract
The patient is a 41-year-old female incidentally diagnosed with a retrorectal tumour from studies performed for repeated episodes of renal colic. In the CT-SCAN we can see a presacral tumour, located above the rectum and intimately related to it with similar density as the soft tissue of 4,7 x 4,9 cm. The pelvic MRI shows a solid presacral tumour that could be a neurogenic tumour or schwannoma. The study was completed with a colonoscopy that was normal.
