Splenic arterial injury caused by use of a lumen‐apposing metal stent for walled‐off pancreatic necrosis drainage

Abstract

Walled-off pancreatic necrosis (WON) is a severe complication of acute necrotizing pancreatitis with pancreatic fluid collection. Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)-guided drainage has been proposed as first-line treatment for WON. A newly developed lumen-apposing metal stent (LAMS) was recently introduced for WON drainage. Some studies have shown efficacy of the LAMS over the double pigtail plastic stent (PS), which is recognized as the conventional drainage option. This article is protected by copyright.
