Planetary Atmospheres as Detectors of Thunderous Neutrons Signatures
Abstract
A possibility is discussed of observations of thunderous neutrons by their signatures as rather narrow gamma-photon bands in the near megaelectronvolt energy range as a result of the neutrons radiative capture by nitrogen nuclei N147(n, γ)N157 directly in atmosphere. Peculiarities in this range of thunderous gamma-ray spectra registered in near space and at the sea coast are noted, which can be interpreted as the thunderous neutrons signatures due to the N147 (n, γ)N157 reaction. It is noted, that the reaction H11 (n, γ)H21 can be causal to thunderous neutrons signatures in the hydrogen-methane atmospheres of the gigantic planets of solar system.
