Abstract

A kind of vanadium-substituted Keggin type polyoxometalate Na7[CoW11VO40]ยท16H2O doped magnetic carbon nitride (CoWV/mCN) have been prepared by simple dipping method. Hybrid CoWV/mCN has been characterized by SEM, EDS and FTIR. The photocatalytic oxidation property has been inspected by degradation of two different antibiotic target solutions under visible light irradiation. The photocatalytic oxidation process discussion of CoWV/mCN composite has been also deduced. Due to introduction of vanadium into the Keggin-type POM skeleton, new V3d/W5d blended LUMO appears, which narrows the energy gap of HOMO and LUMO. Therefore, the visible-light-response ability of the hybrid CoWV/mCN has been improved obviously. Because of its green and magnetic separation property, the hybrid CoWV/mCN has still outstanding photocatalytic activity after four cycles, suggesting its potential in environmental wastewater purification of antibiotic contaminations.
