Liquid–Vapor Phase Equilibria and Thermodynamic Properties of Solutions of Toluene–n-Alkylbenzene Binary Systems
Abstract
A study is performed of the liquid–vapor phase equilibria of solutions of binary systems formed by n-alkylbenzenes. The contributions from intermolecular interactions to the thermodynamic functions of n‑alkylbenzenes and binary solutions of them with toluene are calculated. The contributions from intermolecular interactions to the Helmholtz energy for binary solutions with constant molar concentrations formed by toluene and n-alkylbenzenes is found to depend linearly on the molar mass of n-alkylbenzene in a homologous series. Corresponding equations are proposed.
