Processing of Pulp and Paper Industry Wastes by Supercritical Water Gasification
Abstract
The processing of pulp and paper industry waste using environmentally benign supercritical water conversion is analyzed. The high efficiency of production of combustible gases above 873 K is demonstrated. Mechanisms of the conjugate conversion of organic and mineral components of wastes are considered. The main obstacles to the industrial implementation of the processes under consideration, such as plugging of pipelines, salt precipitation, and the corrosion of structural materials, are discussed.
