A GP who ran a “report writing factory” and signed a false witness report in a road traffic case has escaped a jail term after being found guilty of contempt of court.\n\nThe Court of Appeal has ruled that Asef Zafar, who exaggerated a taxi driver’s injuries in an expert report, received an unduly lenient sentence last October when a High Court judge, Mr Justice Garnham, gave him a six month suspended term for contempt of court.1\n\nThe three appeal court judges said that his sentence should have been significantly longer …
