Abstract


Annemarie Lang studied veterinary medicine. She carried out her doctoral studies at the Institute of Immunology at the Freie Universit€at Berlin and joined the Prof. Buttgereit group at the Department for Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology at the Charit e-Universit€atsmedizin Berlin in 2012 to conduct her PhD. Her research focuses on the development of new, sophisticated, human-based in vitro models to simulate musculoskeletal disorders such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis or fracture healing. In parallel, she is working on refinement tools to improve animal welfare in femoral fracture mouse models. Annemarie has currently joined the group of Joel Boerckel PhD at the University of Pennsylvania for a sabbatical. J-P Mocho obtained a Doctorate in veterinary medicine from the Ecole Nationale V et erinaire de Toulouse in France. He worked as the Named Veterinary Surgeon at the Royal Veterinary College and the Francis Crick Institute in London. Currently, he is a consultant for laboratory animal science and technology and the Honorary Secretary of the Federation of European Laboratory Animal Science Associations (FELASA). J-P Mocho.
