Abstract

This is a book review of Laura Fair s Reel Pleasures: Cinema Audiences and Entrepreneurs in Twentieth Century Urban Tanzania. Author Notes Katie Young recently completed her PhD in Music at Royal Holloway, University of London. Her thesis examines histories of Hindi film songs in Northern Ghana, 1957-present. She is currently a visiting fellow at the University of Development Studies in Ghana, supported by the African Studies Association of the UK.
