Ovarian teratoma and peritoneal endometriosis in a woman with Mayer–Rokitansky–Kuster–Hauser syndrome
Abstract
This is the case of a lady with underlying Mayer–Rokitansky–Kuster–Hauser Syndrome, with complaint of chronic pelvic cyclical pain for 2\u2009years. She was diagnosed with a right ovarian teratoma by sonogram and magnetic resonance imaging. At the age of 20\u2009years, she underwent an operation to create the neovagina with amnion. No abnormal finding was detected apart from this. Tumor markers were within the normal limit. Enucleation of right ovarian teratoma was performed intact and excision of pelvic endometriosis was done laparoscopically. The pathological report revealed that there was endometriosis at the cul de sac and mature cystic teratoma at the right ovary. This case was reported for awareness of the pathophysiology of disease, mechanism of endometriosis in this disease, and role of laparoscopy in providing complete treatment.
