RAZOR trial: analysis of 3-year follow-up: an era of robotic radical cystectomy: is it a new beginning?

Abstract

RAZOR (Randomized Open versus Robotic Cystectomy) trial is a\xa0phase 3 randomized control trial comparing robot-assisted laparoscopic radical cystectomy with open radical cystectomy\xa0for the treatment of bladder cancer published by Parekh et.al. Three-year follow-up\xa0analysis of this trial showed that\xa0there was no difference in\xa0overall survival, progression-free survival, and\xa0local or distant recurrence in both the group. The present report will discuss this landmark trial in brief in the context of the advantage and feasibility of robotic radical cystectomy in the developing world.
