Observation of Local Symmetry in a Photonic System

Abstract

We demonstrate the effect of local symmetries on the dynamics of laser-written photonic waveguide arrays. A non-local continuity equation allows us to distinguish between the three cases of global symmetry, local symmetry and full disorder. © 2019 The Author(s)
