CenteringParenting - Forming a Community Inside the Medical Home through the Group Well Child Visit

 

Abstract


Early life experiences influence brain development and have significant implications on future health and developmental outcomes. Children raised in environments with significant social stressors, limited stimulation and lack of exposure to positive interactions are likely to have delays in language, vocabulary, and social skills - all factors critical for school readiness. CenteringParenting, a two generation intervention, supports healthy parent-child interactions and early learning through education and experiential learning within the framework of group well child visits.
