Validez y confiabilidad de un instrumento para medir percepción de atención humanizada en odontología

Abstract

Background: there are instruments such as the PCHE scale Perception of humanized care in nursing in its different versions that measure the perception of humanized behavior, however in dentistry instruments like this have not been found. Objective: to evaluate the validity and reliability of the instrument PCHE 3a version for its use in dentistry. Materials and methods: quantitative, descriptive study that performed psychometric tests on the PCHE 3 rd version instrument. Measurements of validity and reliability were made through the evaluation of internal consistency. We counted with the participation of 259 patients with dental treatment belonging to three locations of a dental institution, through the application of an individual survey that consisted of 32 closed questions and prior authorization through informed consent. Results: an acceptability index of 0.93 and a content validity index of 0.89 were obtained by the panel of experts. In the factorial analysis, the Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin test (KMO) of 0.829 and a Bartlett test of 0.0; indicators that allowed the calculation of the factorial loads and thus determine the construct of the instrument that managed to define one adjusted to the context of dentistry, preserving its categories; with a Cronbach s alpha of 0.892. Conclusions: the instrument PCHE 3rd adjusted version is valid and reliable for its application in the dental field. Of the patients belonging to the institution that participated in the application of the instrument, 87.6% considered that there is always a humanized attention by the dental staff.
